Yellowstone<\/em>\u00a0creator\u00a0Taylor Sheridan<\/a><\/span>\u00a0returns to movie making, with the unstoppable franchise frontman set to write and direct a new Western war movie. But there\u2019s a catch. Now well-renowned for kick-starting the\u00a0Yellowstone\u00a0<\/em>series, which has branched off into all manner of spin-offs, sequels, and prequels, as well as the\u00a0hit shows\u00a0Landman, Tulsa King<\/em>, and more<\/a>, Sheridan is no stranger to the big screen, having written\u00a0Sicario, Hell or High Water<\/em>, and helmed\u00a0Wind River<\/em>. Now, he\u2019s back, but seeing his new movie won\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n

Taylor Sheridan has now been tasked with writing and directing what\u2019s been described as an \u201cinnovative\u201d Western war movie based on the Battle of the Alamo. Taking place in 1836, the battle was a pivotal moment in the Texas Revolution. Taking place over 13 days, the Battle of the Alamo saw Texan defenders fight against thousands of Mexican troops led by President General Antonio L\u00f3pez de Santa Anna, and while many were killed, including Davy Crockett, they refused to surrender, with the battle becoming a symbol of resistance against seemingly impossible odds.<\/p>\n

The Battle of the Alamo has been given the cinematic treatment before,\u00a0most famously in John Wayne\u2019s 1960 epic\u00a0The Alamo<\/em><\/a>, which starred Wayne as Davy Crockett. It being a prime project for Taylor Sheridan surely needs no explanation, with the filmmaker now creating a 4D movie to be shown at the Alamo Visitor Center and Museum in San Antonio at the museum’s under-construction 4D theater.<\/p>\n

Per a press release on the Texas Lieutenant Governor’s\u00a0website<\/a>, the project is described as a “state-of-the-art immersive experience designed to recreate the story of the Battle of the Alamo,” with Sheridan sharing a statement, saying…<\/p>\n

“The Alamo is the very bedrock Texas was founded upon. To chronicle the sacrifice made by the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives defending the Alamo is an honor I eagerly accept.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As for the theater itself, it\u2019s been called \u201cthe most technologically advanced 4D Theater in the world,\u201d with Sheridan\u2019s movie boasting \u201cDynamic visual effects, sound, and physical elements will help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the siege nearly 190 years ago.\u201d In a further statement, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick praised Sheridan for telling the\u00a0story of the American west like no other<\/a>…<\/p>\n
